I think given the popularity and fast growth of ABRA, it deserves a place at the table. I'll add sub forums to it based on what shooter suggest..

Friend Admin1:

Could you, or someone, post a picture of the target used by ABRA and explain the scoring.

How does it compare to the PSL or ARA target for difficulty?

Thank you...

Friend Rexaroonie:

I made your picture so guests can see it full size......

I'm wrong, guests can't see the target full sized.....why, I don't understand....maybe Admin1 can help.

ABRA target.jpg

Friend Rexaroonie, do you know how the target is scored?

I already see one thing about the ABRA target that makes it more difficult to shoot than the PSL and ARA targets...

None of the sighters line up with the record bulls, which means when a sighter is used the shooter must make an elevation change, as well as a horizontal change, when they go to the record bull....

Thanks in advance...

Best edge scoring. The 10 dot is approximately .130, 9 ring .450, 8 ring .770, and so on. It looks like the intention is a .220 ring spacing . No X count. Overall a softer target IMO, as compared to ARA Unlimited and PSL but not as soft as IR50 with its big 10 ring.

Yes, what Jerry said, best edge. They also have classes for bolt guns, not just semi auto's. The sighters are inconvenient, but it was good practice and close to home.

It has the reputation of being a easier target but after all the years of it being around I don't think anyone has shot a clean. If it has someone correct me.

To Admin1: I can not post a picture that will open full size for our visitor friends......we could do this on the old site...

Gingersnap, can this be corrected?

We need full sized pictures for visitors to this new site like we had on the old site...

And of course I could be doing something wrong?

Thank you in advance......BC

Bill,

The entire target, which is what you have posted is bigger than my computer. Not just the screen but the computer, closed. So you won't be able to post it full size. you could do as other have done and attach a file o one or two bulls that could be adjusted and you could adjust those to approximate full size.

As far as being harder than ARA or PSL I don't think it is. It's probably slightly easier but remember it was designed for Semi Auto. Heavy guns have almost taken it over at least that's what I've seen. But it is deceptive, Hitting the dot is a 10 first line a 9 and so on, Top score on a full card is 200. I can attest that's easier than a 2500 ARA card, Advantages are it's fast, fun and takes about 50-60 percent of the ammo compared to an ARA card.

I knew about Gross last year. I just wondered if indoor or outdoor if a 200 agg had ever been shot. The card is not easy to shoot a 200. Like mentioned before the sighter location does not help.

The reason I asked this question was I don't feel like this target gets the respect it deserves in the difficulty area. I've seen a lot of very capable shooters shoot a lot of cards over the years for none of them to ever shoot a clean match. Its a good target. I'm not sure the sighter location is not what has held down the 200's. Which could be a good thing.
