Third lever return spring information
CYA friends, and especially AD:
I tore my Turbo pistol back down today to get some measurements of the third lever return spring.
I also wanted to inspect everything after shooting it yesterday, and if all was OK, to stake in the third lever pivot pin.
The spring was kinda hard to measure....but this is close.
Some things to consider here:
The wire diameter is .021"....
The OD of the coils is .160"
There's 6 full coils, which correctly equal the .126" measurement.
But..................
If the two end loops were opened up to a full coil width, the spring should measure .446" long.
But, I don't have the end loops opened up a full 90 degrees.....
I believe the main factor will be the .381" length measurement.......
After I tore the pistol back down I inspected everything carefully, and all is proper.....
Therefore, I decided to stake the pivot pin in.........since it's a steel housing I can do this, like Remington does.
Now, I've got to go back to the range........
This is like the old days......I stayed broke all the time buying ammo so I could go to the range every evening and kick out a couple cards with my pistols.
Thanks to Robert Oates, though, I'm on a freebie now.......
Thanks again Robert.....
If some of the other lots you gave me shoot like the lot I shot yesterday, you might regret getting rid of that old Eley.
