What will it take at Piney Hill?

What will it take at Piney Hill?

CYA friends:

If you haven't figured out by now, I love this new IR-50 10-SHOT...

And I just heard something...

Sometime here in January there's going to be a three target, 10-SHOT match at Piney Hill....( I'm sorry, but I didn't catch the date, it'll probably be on the IR-50 web site)

Anyway, what score will it take to win this first ever 3-card 10-SHOT contest?

______________________

I suppose it may depend on who's competing......

As I understand things, the current 10-SHOT single target record is 108.

So, could I expect the three target winner to kick out three cards that break the single card record?

My answer might surprise some..........YES.

But again, it all depends on who shows up...

Oh, and one other thing I'm wondering about?

Whoever wins this first 10-SHOT, three card match, if one of those three cards breaks the existing single card 10-SHOT record, will it stand as a new record?

Or if anyone, winner or not, breaks the current single card 10-SHOT record, will it stand?

Man, I'm as cited as I've been in years about IR-50........

IR-50 has the opportunity to set the standard for rimfire accuracy advancement...

And of course, this first 3 card 10-SHOT will establish a new record.

I can't wait......

Man I love this new 10-SHOT,

Your friend, BC

What score do I think it will take to win this first ever 10-SHOT three card?

As soon as I get some idea of who will be there, I'll post my prediction...bc

CYA friends:

I just looked on the IR-50 web site.....

The 10-SHOT match will be Jan 21st.......

A lot is going to depend upon the weather......as far as turnout.

This is citing, for me, since this RFBR game represents pure accuracy.

I've not competed in about 10 years now.....and never will again...

But if I did, I'd have to be at Piney Hill come the 21st..........weather permitting.

I'd love to see someone shoot my spearment there......

This thing is stout......

I've got a feeling that the folks who feel they've got it, are going to be there the 21st, again weather permitting.

10-SHOT is like the PSL, it ain't going to be for everyone.

I've got a feeling, no I know, that only serious RFBR shooters will tackle this game, just like the PSL.

And if I thought I had it, I'd have to be there.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that the weather cooperates.

I've been thinking about what score it's going to take to win the thing.

The 250 x 17X test target I graded, was an 80......

So if one kept up this pace, three times 80 means a score of 240.

Harry Deneen's sporta 249 x 22X card graded a 124.......

So if one kept up this pace, three times 124 means a score of 372, of course.

I would be completely surprised if the thing was won with a 240.

But, depending on who shows up, I would not be real surprised if the thing was won with a 372.....

Although, kicking out three 124's would be stout......

CYA friends, ain't this citing.......

Big time RFBR has a score game now, that demands the type of "pure rimfire accuracy" that group shooting demands.

Man I hope the weather cooperates.

Bill: Thank you! I was packing the car to make the trip to Piney Hill today for tomorrow's match. You made me re-think and check the date. It is NEXT Sunday, not tomorrow. You saved me a trip and lots of lonely practice had I not read your post. bob

ps; remember the 10x is simply another way to score the IR50 target. We will shoot it just like we always have I suspect. A 10 score on a bull will be a rare event indeed.

You're most certainly welcome....

If me posting the date kept you from a needless trip, I'm glad I posted it....

One Friday afternoon I was at the range testing a new build....I was alone.

Then I heard someone pulling in the driveway, so I looked around and saw Paul Truitt and he shooting buddy Pete pulling in.

Them boys were from Michigan, over 400 miles north of me.

Anyway, we chewed the fat for a while, then I asked them, I says, "Paul, are you guys on vacation or something, just passing through?"

Then one of them said they were getting ready to get a motel room, for the match tomorrow.

Bob, did you ever dread to have to tell someone something?

I then said, "Guys, our club match is next week-end."

Them two guys looked at one another, just shook their heads, and headed back to Michigan...

I bet that was an interesting ride back to Michigan. I'd loved to have been a little mouse in the back seat listening.

True story.....so yes, things like that do happen.

Bob, as you can probably tell, I love this 10-SHOT thing...

If the folks at IR-50 play this thing right, it will be huge.......for the serious RFBR folks.

I've re-scored a bunch of targets trying to get a "feel" for this thing.

I'm as cited as I've been in a long time.

PS:

Last night I re-graded this 19X PSL card that Chuck "Raging Inferno" Morrell kicked out a couple years ago.

It 10-SHOT grades at a minimum of 134....

I believe bull #17 will grade a 10-SHOT 6.....which would make it a 136.....but that's speculation....

The 134 is stout enough.....BC
