Muller barrels and kicking out big numbers

CYA friends:

By volume, big time RFBR lives in a Shilen ratchet world.............has since 2008'...

But by big numbers, big time RFBR lives in a Muller MI world, and has 2014'......

CYA friends, the biggest numbers being turned in today are with Dan Muller barrels..

A thought, or maybe a question, or maybe just wondering:

It seems the Shilen ratchet is fairly readily available.......

The Muller barrels don't seem to be as readily available.....

Now the answer/question, or thought, or maybe me just wondering:

Why?

PS:

CYA friends, I wanted to add a PS before I take off to the range.....

I believe I know why Dan Muller doesn't produce more barrels than he does.....

It has nothing to do with him not wanting to.....I'm pretty sure....

The reason he doesn't, parallels the story of the Shilen octagon............

Someday, when/if, I get up the nerve, I'll splain..........................bc

Why

Why

CYA friends:

Why?

Why is a most interesting word.

The world is full of why's.........including advancing rimfire accuracy.

Here's a couple why's:

Why have I had such success with the Shilen octagon, when no one else has had much? (Trebuchet, Ole #33 and Rooster being three sterling examples)

Why have most of the killer big numbers that have been kicked out at the Big Nationals, been turned with Muller barrels, in particular the Muller 4-MI?

The answer to both of these "why's" stem from the same set of physical facts.

I've addressed, several times before, what is necessary for the Shilen octagon to shoot at the Big National level.

The exact same thing applies to the Muller 4-MI.

But in today's world of hurt feelings, whenever anyone's sacred cow is criticized, makes discussing these why's tough....

So, I don't know.....I'll have to think about it......
