The winners and losers...RFBR action makers

The winners and losers...RFBR action makers

    CYA friends:

We're coming to a watershed moment in the search for rimfire accuracy........

Of all the custom RFBR action makers, past and present, who wins, and who loses?

Of course the major winner is Flash Ebert........

But after Flash, which RFBR action makers have won, and which have been losers?

Why some custom RFBR actions failed to live up to expectations

Why some custom RFBR actions failed to live up to expectations

    CYA friends:

Of the nine different custom, SAP ignitioned, RFBR actions that have been introduced since big time RFBR started, why have none of them been able to compete with the Turbo class actions at the Big Nationals?

Nine SAP ignitioned actions, and the TCA's still dominate the Big Nationals.

    Why?

Yes, every great once in a while, someone using a SAP ignitioned RFBR gun will win a Big National.

But the records of the Big Nationals speak for themselves..........TCA's dominate, and by a large margin....( a very large margin)

    So why?

Why do Flash Ebert's momentum dependent, PAS ignitioned actions dominate our sport at the Big Nationals?

    :

What is it, when the firing pin passes through the firing pin spring, SAP ignition, that causes this style of rimfire ignition to produce less uniform, consistent, case head penetration numbers than rimfire ignition where the firing pin spring is captured inside of the firing pin body, PAS ignition?

Anyone know the answer to the above question?

    PS:

If anyone believes SAP rimfire ignition, any SAP rimfire ignition, can produce case head penetration numbers comparable to MD PAS ignition numbers, run the tests yourself......bc

    CYA friends:

If the SAP ignitioned RFBR action makers would have run case head penetration tests before deciding to use SAP ignition, there would be no SAP ignitioned RFBR actions today.

    Here's why:

When you run case head penetration tests against a well blueprinted, MD PAS ignitioned action, that is capable of producing 10X10 penetration runs time after time, how do you design a SAP ignition that will better it?

How does one design a rimfire ignition system that will better 10X10's?

    Nine have tried.....

There's been nine, custom, SAP ignitioned RFBR actions introduced in the history of big time RFBR.

And yet, the MD PAS ignitioned actions continue to dominate the Big Nationals.

    Talk about getting it right..............

    Talk about getting it right..............

    CYA friends:

Winchester designed the PAS rimfire ignition system for their Model 52 Winchester almost 100 years ago.......

    Talk about getting it right....

Flash Ebert's contribution was to add momentum to Winchester's PAS ignition system....

What current, and future, RFBR action makers are faced with, is trying to improve something that's not improvable.

When we already have a rimfire ignition system that's capable of turning 10X10's, there's really no place left to go.

How does one better a rimfire ignition system that's capable of turning 10X10's?

The only possible improvement left, is to guarantee that every MD PAS action is blueprint perfect.........bc
