If you own one of the early DiOrio V-3's....

When properly blueprinted, these early DiOrio V-3's are the highest ignition uniformity producing RFBR actions ever produced by the hand of man.

They will drive the crescent pin to any depth you desire while having one finger ease of bolt lift....and the mainspring will last forever.

So if you're fortunate enough to own one, GUARD IT........cause there ain't no more.

CYA accuracy fool friends:

I was talking to Jeff as I was shooting SPEC P-8 yesterday afternoon....

P1000573.jpg

We discussed the sad fact that there will never be any more of the good, original V-3's.....

The action on P-8 is not one of the originals.....but with Jeff's gift at blueprinting he made it as close to one of the originals as humanly possible.

Jeff is just like me, we both have wondered how the original V-3's got away from us....

No, there will never be any more of the original V-3's.....

There is a Turbo V3 for sale on Rimfire Accuracy Classified

Friend pabessi1:

Is it one of the first V-3's with the flat loading ramp or one of the late versions with the V loading ramp?

The flat loading ramp version is the one I refer to as "owning a gold mine".

Your LBK and pistol fool friend, Bill Calfee

It‘s a V loading ramp. Ser 0242. The gun was just built this year. Must be a recent action.
Many Thanks for your response.….and while we’re at it, thanks for sharing all of your knowledge and experience with us accuracy seekers.

I'm waiting for a definitive photo of the coveted flat loading ramp also since I have Turbo V3. The one in the photo above looks like it has a slight V to it. Someone post a photo please. The suspense is killing us.

According to DiOrio the Turbo has never bee produced with a flat loading ramp. ?????????
The production run V3 receivers were never supplied with a flat feed ramp. The flat feed ramp design was changed in 2015 when we redesigned the bottom of the bolt body and feed ramp to the current V shape. The design change was made to facilitate easier loading of a round into the chamber which had always been a problem with the flat ramp design. Bill was sent a prototype V3 for evaluation prior to the first production run. If my memory serves me correctly, the prototype receiver he received had the previous style flat ramp, this was done because that is what Bill was used to and it was recommended I provide the prototype to him with the old design. The V ramp design was incorporated into all Turbo models produced starting in 2015, the V3 was first offered to the market in 2018. Since the the introduction of the V3, we have incorporated several design changes with the goal always being to improve the product. The latest change was introduced in March of 2023 and addressed the heavy bolt lift, spring life and overall ignition performance. I’m not sure why this keeps coming up, I realize some folks are not comfortable with change regardless of what is gained. We have always implemented design changes based on customer feedback and a desire to continually improve our products if possible. We will continue this philosophy for in the end it pushes us, as a company, to produce the best products possible.

Best Regards, Anthony DiOrio

@DiOrioMFG The picture I posted above was from a rifle owned by a friend. I don't own a Turbo V3, but if I ever do, I'll be looking for the latest design. Thanks for the information

Thanks Anthony for the explanation. I do remember reading this same reply from you someplace before but couldn`t locate it.
